Contact the applicant’s employer – This will give you the chance to verify that your tenant is employed at the company stated by him/her and to confirm his/her income information.

Contact the applicant’s previous landlords – This will give you a chance in understand how your potential tenant will treat your property and if the previous landlords were happy with their tenant.

Contact the applicant’s personal references – Although this information may be biased, you may gather some information on the tenant’s character, demeanor and manner.
